I took this picture in our front yard last summer – when Julie’s butterfly bush was in full bloom.  I think about the road a butterfly has to take to reach maturity – egg, caterpillar, pupa, adult – this reminds me that we don’t become beautiful instantly. It takes a lifetime of growth and development for us to move toward the ideal God has for us.  That is to be remade in the image of Christ, as Ecclesiastes 3:11 says; in His time He makes all things beautiful.  So keep following, keep growing and be patient with yourself and others – growth takes time.
